American Floral Endowment Floriculture Intern Scholarships Available

Applications are being accepted for the American Floral Endowment's (AFE) Vic & Margaret Ball Intern Scholarship, geared toward commercial production, and the Mosmiller Intern Scholarship Program, geared toward floral retail, wholesale and allied trade fields.

“These two intern scholarship programs allow students to gain the hands-on, real-world experience they need before entering the industry, while also providing financial aid,” said AFE Manager Debi Aker.

The Vic & Margaret Ball Intern Scholarship Program, established in 1992 by a generous gift from Vic and Margaret Ball, specifically funds training at floriculture production greenhouses throughout the U.S. Vic Ball was a well respected and widely admired leader in horticulture and floriculture for more than sixty years. The Balls created this program to assure future students would have the ability to take advantage of practical greenhouse experience opportunities without financial worry. The Ball program allows for a 3-, 4- or 6-month paid internship experience, and awards a scholarship ($1,500, $3,000 or $6,000) at the completion of the internship.
