BATON ROUGE, La. – Louisiana gardeners and others have a chance to “Get It Growing” next year with the publication of the 2015 calendar from the LSU AgCenter.
Living up to its reputation as a reliable resource for Louisiana gardening information, the 2015 Get It Growing calendar provides gardening enthusiasts with opportunities to learn more about their craft and to enjoy beautiful garden photos.
“The Get It Growing calendar has become a perennial favorite with Louisiana gardeners,” said Elma Sue McCallum of LSU AgCenter Communications. “They rely on the gardening tips and other information from our well-known horticulture expert Dan Gill and enjoy the beautiful garden photos found in the calendar from gardeners and photographers from all over the state.”
McCallum said those who have enjoyed the previous editions of the calendar definitely will enjoy the 2015 version, but she encouraged anyone to consider it as a great gardening resource or gift item for those who like to garden or enjoy beautiful photos of flowers, plants and gardens.
The full-color, 32-page calendar features a special feature and how-to section on container gardening, monthly gardening tips from Gill, a Louisiana zone map, gardening terms and definitions, new Louisiana Super Plants and photographs of beautiful flowers, vegetables and plants.
The 9-inch by 13 1/4-inch calendar, which is designed as part of the LSU AgCenter’s popular Get It Growing educational campaign on home lawns and gardens, sells for $11.95 and is available online at www.LSUAgCenter.com/GetItGrowingCalendar. In addition, phone orders can be placed by calling 225-578-4646.
The calendar also is expected to be available through a variety of garden centers and gift shops across the state this fall.
Proceeds from calendar sales will support horticultural research and educational efforts of the LSU AgCenter, as well as potential scholarships for horticulture students.
