Aloha! You are cordially invited to the 19th annual Hawaii MIDPAC Horticultural Conference & Expo being held July 23-25th at the luxurious Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel on the picturesque Kohala coast on the Big Island of Hawaii. We are partnering this year with the Hawaii Floriculture & Nursery Association (HFNA) and the Orchid Growers of Hawaii (OGOH). Jointly, we will continue promotion of our five new varieties of Dracaena along with the reintroduction of five under utilized flowers (a variety each of anthurium, orchid, heliconia, ginger, and protea).
We hope you will join us to see our exciting new varieties and other beautiful flowers and plants and “talk story” with the growers on how to care for these superior plants and flowers grown with Aloha. Learn more about why you should “Buy Hawaii, It’s Better!” through our educational conference, hear our gifted speakers impart their wisdom on how to get our tropical floriculture products to you quickly and easily, see where our industry is heading in the future and how to market your business so it can prosper.
This year we will offer a guided nursery bus tour to east Hawaii Island flower and foliage nurseries on Wednesday, July 23rd and west Hawaii Island nurseries with a short scenic tour on Thursday, July 24th. Thursday evening we will all come together for a welcome cocktail party to meet and greet everyone. Our Horticultural Conference and Expo will be held on Friday, July 26th in the Hapuna Ballroom and the Hau Conference Room. We have an expanded conference schedule with concurrent sessions pertaining to topics that will appeal to everyone. For the first time, we will be offering 4 CEUs for the certified landscape architects that attend.
You may visit our Educational Center displays during breaks in the schedule throughout the day. Many agricultural agencies and organizations will be on hand to provide you with the latest updates on available programs, and transportation companies will be able to answer your questions about scheduling, rates and the process of having your flowers and plants shipped from Hawaii to anywhere in the United States and Canada. MIDPAC would not be complete without our annual Networking Reception. We will have live local entertainment, a silent auction with great items up for bid throughout the evening, and will again honor one of our own with a MIDPAC Hall of Fame Award. We hope you will join us for great food, fun and friendship!
Inside you will find our Schedule of Events and registration information. Please register quickly, as seating is limited. The Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, our host hotel, has given us greatly discounted rates starting at only $169 a night for your stay in Waikoloa. The hotel registration form is included.
