UTICA — From textiles to hummus, manufacturing in the Utica region certainly has changed.
The newest kid on the block is Eva Gourmet, which recently started mass production of hummus and food dips. It is headquartered in a recently retrofitted, 7,500-square-foot Wurz Avenue facility, the building that used to house Sovena USA.
“We’re a local company that wants to grow our brand on a regional and national basis,” said Mike Stewart, the company’s president and chief executive officer. “We’re really now getting traction and starting to build our distribution.”
