The World's Most Expensive Cheese Comes From Donkeys

Belgrade – At the Zasavica Special Nature Reserve in Serbia, about 80 kilometers west of the Serbian capital, Belgrade, you will find a donkey farm where donkey cheese, called pule, the most expensive cheese in the world is produced.
Connoisseurs of fine foods are anything but indifferent when it comes to cheese. Cheese is either the perfect example of the artisan food heritage, or its is nothing more than a chunk of some kind of smelly dairy product, best left as a garnish for a pizza.
But at the donkey farm, the cheese produced from the mares, known as pule, sells for 1,000 euros (1,117 US dollars) a kilogram (2.2 pounds), setting a world record as the most expensive cheese, according to the World Record Academy.
