RALEIGH – A fun and unique event called “CHEESE PLEASE!” at the Raleigh Downtown Farmers Market will be an interesting opportunity to experience North Carolina’s delicious culinary cheese scene.
On Wednesday, August 1, 2012 from 10 am to 2 pm, at City Plaza on the 400 block of Fayetteville Street, the Market will host this local cheese celebration in conjunction with the American Cheese Society’s (ACS) National Conference.
The event will showcase a wide selection of the area’s finest cheeses and cheese makers, a grilled cheese cook-off featuring downtown Raleigh’s top chefs, local beer and cheese pairings with the North Carolina’s Brewer’s Guild, live music programmed by Hopscotch, local lunch vendors, and lots of fresh produce, meats, and artisan baked goods!
This special gathering of local artisan cheese-makers in one place is a rare occasion that offers shoppers the opportunity to choose from five cheese vendors and over 50 types of cow and goat cheeses, all produced within 80 miles of downtown.
