GRAND RAPIDS — Protein drinks used to sell to serious athletes. Now, moms buy them for their kids.
It’s one of the many trends grocers look at when deciding among thousands of products to offer.
Yesterday, nearly 2,000 retailers were expected to learn about trends and search the options from 250 vendors at Spartan Foods’ third annual Fresh Experience expo at DeVos Place.
They heard about convenience foods, products with good value and health and wellness trends, said Scott Ruth, Spartan’s vice president of fresh merchandising.
