Sergio Hernandez To Join Rogers Collection

PORTLAND, ME — Rogers Collection announced that Sergio Hernandez is joining the organization as Director of Business Development & Sales.

“Sergio's proven track record of success—as both a retailer and a chef—makes him an exciting addition to our energetic team. He brings with him a thorough approach to working with ingredients and a deep understanding of Rogers Collection products, from historical relevance to technical uses. Sergio’s enthusiasm, wit and vast experience will be invaluable to our efforts as we support and expand our customer base,” said Managing Director Carrie Davenport.

Hernandez opened and managed the cheese and provisions shop Bklyn Larder starting in 2009. Prior to that, he served as general manager at the Brooklyn wine bar/pizzeria franny’s, and worked in the kitchen under Michelin Star Chef Gray Kunz at Café Gray NYC. Before moving to Brooklyn, he worked with food distributor Provisions International in Vermont, where he sourced, purchased and marketed new specialty food products, including cheeses, cured meats, olive oils and vinegars. “Sergio’s experience will be invaluable to Rogers Collection as we selectively expand our product line and increase our retail, restaurant, and distributor base,” said Sales Director Jen Bonaccorsi.

“From my formative years as a line cook, to my time as a specialty food purveyor, to curating my own selection for Bklyn Larder, the Rogers Collection line has long been my favorite ingredients—I am beyond thrilled to have this opportunity to contribute to a company that is such a pioneer in small, artisanal food imports,” said Hernandez. “Rogers places tremendous value on knowing and working directly with its producers, to ensure a responsibly sourced and diverse product line. I am totally committed to the vision and I look forward to building relationships with customers and producers, both old and new.”
