Red Clay Gourmet, based in Winston-Salem, is one of the winners of the 2018 Product Competition of the N.C. Specialty Foods Association, held during the association's annual fall conference this month in Bermuda Run.
Red Clay's Gourmet's South Meets East Sriracha Pimiento Cheese won top honors in the Dairy'Refrigerated category. Red Clay Gourmet is a line of four gourmet pimento cheeses. The company was founded by Michele and Lance Sawyer when they ran First Street Draught House in Winston-Salem. They have since closed the restaurant to concentrate on their pimento cheese, which is now sold in stores in more than 40 states.
