Atlanta, GA – Carey Lohrenz, the first female F-14 Tomcat Fighter Pilot in the US Navy, set the tone for the successful event by sharing her insights into managing and succeeding in a fast-paced, changing environment and leading despite chaos and uncertainty. Her inspirational message received top marks from the Conference audience, which included a record-breaking 230 attendees. Other presenters and topics included Lean Manufacturing by Joe Mignone, JFM Global Associates; a panel addressing Mayo 101; an insightful look at agroterroism by Special Agent Jeffrey B. Cassett; Trends in Europe by NPD Group’s Robert Kedzlie; and a critical Technical Update from RFA Technical Director, Martin Mitchell.
The Conference was held at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in Carlsbad, CA on March 1-4, 2015. In addition to the timely presentations, the Conference also included a 35th anniversary celebration at Miramar Marine Corps Air Station, where Conference participants enjoyed private use of the Officer’s Club that was made famous in movies including Top Gun. The annual Golf Tournament allowed avid players a chance to enjoy networking and beautiful weather on the Park Hyatt’s award-winning course. Suppliers displayed their wares and presented money and time saving opportunities at the Exhibition and during the One-on-One CEO Sessions.
At the conclusion of the event, Steve Loehndorf (pictured) of Reser’s Fine Foods was named the new President of the Refrigerated Foods Association. Loehndorf will serve a two-year term.
