Pine River Earns Plaudits This Year In Four Separate Cheese Contests

A Newton-based cheese spread company has won plaudits this year in four separate cheese contests.
Pine River, which specializes in making spreadable “cold pack” cheeses, most recently captured the top three spots in its category in Madison’s World Dairy Expo Championship Dairy Product Contest.
That contest was earlier this month, and saw the company’s Swiss and Almond, Chunky Bleu and Cheddar, and an Extra Sharp Cheddar spreads finish first through third, respectively, in the cold pack category.
