Weeks after it recalled of all its cheese and peanut products because of a potentially deadly bacteria outbreak, Coon Rapids food company Parkers Farm has been declared safe by state health inspectors and has resumed operations.
State officials say it remains unclear whether Parkers Farm will be fined for violating health regulations and allowing the listeria monocytogenes bacteria to contaminate the production plant.
The operations of Parkers Farm had been completely shut down by state investigators after a nationwide recall of the company’s products from stores such as Cub, Rainbow, Lunds, Byerly’s, Target, Whole Foods, Hy-Vee, Sam’s Club, Costco and Wal-Mart. A partial recall was made initially, and was followed earlier this month by a complete recall of every company product that remained on store shelves or in consumers’ homes.
