NFC Championship Game Sparks Mayoral 'Beer & Cheese Throw Down'

Green Bay, WI – Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt and Seattle Mayor Ed Murray are making a friendly wager in anticipation of the NFC Championship Game this Sunday, January 18th. More will be at stake than just advancing to the Super Bowl when the Green Bay Packers try to avenge their early season loss and strike any memory from the Fail Mary Game in 2012 as they take on the Seattle Seahawks.

The wager calls for the losing Mayor to deliver a hometown favorite to the winning Mayor’s office. In the unlikely scenario Seattle wins, Mayor Schmitt will deliver a plethora of local beer, sausage and cheese, including Titletown Brewing’s Green 19 IPA and Johnny Blood Red Ale, Titletown Brewing Summer Sausages flavored with Dark Helmet, Green 19 IPA and Canadeo Gold beers and an award winning wheel of Belgioioso (pronounced bel-joy-o-so) Parmesan Cheese.

After the certain thrashing Green Bay is to put on Seattle, Mayor Murray will send his best, albeit inferior, beer and cheese, including a large block of Flagship from Beecher’s Handmade Cheese and an assortment of craft beers from Fremont Brewing, including Dark Star Imperial Oatmeal Stout, Universale Pale Ale, Interurban IPA, 77 Select Session IPA and Bonfire Ale.

“I can’t wait to see our Green Bay Packers shred the Seahawks in a game being billed as the Titletown Beer and Cheese Throw Down,” said Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt.
