For the past seven years, Howard Bender wanted everyone in Naperville to try a pastrami sandwich, bagel or matzo ball soup from his traditional Jewish Deli.
Now, he wants their families across the continental United States to try his fare as well.
Bender, the CEO of Naperville-based Schmaltz Delicatessen, has already delivered corned beef, black-and-white cookies, chopped liver and other traditional Jewish foods to 26 states after launching Schmaltz Online six months ago.
“As we’ve talked to the customers to get feedback, some are Jewish, some aren’t Jewish, but they are all looking for great pastrami, they are all looking for great bagels,” he said of customer reviews of the nationwide delivery of his deli creations.
