Kretschmar, Marc's And Make-A-Wish Partner To Grant Local Wishes

LISLE, III. – Kretschmar® Premium Meats & Cheeses has partnered with Marc's family of stores to help Make-A-Wish® make dreams come true for Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana children who are battling life-threatening illnesses. September 1 thru September 30, shoppers at participating Marc's stores in the Cleveland, Ohio-area can help by purchasing a star at the cash register to donate one dollar or five dollars to Make-A-Wish.

During a presentation Sunday at The FEST in Wickliffe, Ohio, Kretschmar kicked off the fundraising effort with a donation of its own. Kretschmar representatives presented a $10,000 check to Robert Purgert of the Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana chapter of Make-A-Wish.

"Kretschmar is committed to supporting the important efforts of Make-A-Wish and helping to make wishes come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions," said Michael J. Sargent, Senior Brand Manager, Kretschmar Deli. "We are privileged to have the opportunity to make more unforgettable experiences possible with help from Make-A-Wish and Marc's."

Deli customers can also help by purchasing Kretschmar Make-A-Wish Hero Club Sandwiches to help grant the wishes of local children like Jasmyn, a 14-year-old battling Lymphoma. Her wish is to visit the San Francisco Zoo. Marc's customers can also purchase Make-A-Wish paper stars at checkout.

"Everyone at Marc's is grateful for what Make-A-Wish has done for children and families in Ohio," said Manal Shahadeh, Deli Buyer, Marc's. "We wanted to show our appreciation by beginning this fundraiser, and making more wishes come true."

Since 2012, Kretschmar has contributed over $515,000 to Make-A-Wish nationally and sponsored more than twelve wishes with local chapters through its Legendary Wishes campaign. Along with retail partners like Marc's, Kretschmar has raised additional funding through sales of Make-A-Wish paper stars sold at registers, employee donations and sandwich fundraisers. These efforts have raised $75,000 locally, which was given to Make-A-Wish chapters to grant more wishes.

Most recently, Kretschmar helped send a young country music fan to the CMA Music Festival in Nashville, Tenn. 17-year-old Kelley experienced the country music trip of her dreams, which included four days of VIP treatment in Music City.
