New York, NY – Desi Food Truck and owner Al Elahi announced the unveiling ,and grand opening event dates, for NYC’s first ever original style Indian Cuisine mobile food truck. Unlike many other NYC mobile food and street vendors Al is the very first to announce an Indian style truck serving up classic Indian foods that easily differentiate his business from the many Halal food carts that line the NYC streets. The new Desi Food Truck is located on 27th street and 5th Avenue in NYC Monday to Wednesday from1:00 am to 2:00 am and Thursday to Saturday from 11:00am to 5:00am. The truck also has immediate plans for expansion to add additional locations throughout the NYC area. The Flatiron District Desi food Truck has grown wildly popular for its tasty dishes and recession friendly pricing and has quickly grown to be a prime location for the wholesale market with its Indian subcontinent community, surrounding nightlife, along with office and university crowd.
“I wanted to introduce something different, something that’s never been done before within the vendor community of NYC”, states Owner Al Elahi “Life in NYC is defined and fused together by great entertainment, good friends and amazing food. Our goal is to create a lasting memory through incredible taste, our originality, affordable prices and convenience to the NYC population.”
The Desi Food Truck distinctly sets itself apart from other vendors in NYC not only by taste but by the type of mobile cuisine, as well as the look and feel of the entire experience. The lavish yellow truck is a full Indo-Pak motif with original art that can be easily spotted within the NY hustle and bustle. The metal fringing that adorns the sides is 100% handcrafted and can be found in and around India for elite mobile design purposes. The truck also includes Wi-Fi for all that visit and would like to log on, and a television on the side playing Indian music selections to provide an amazing sense driven effect all while chowing down on a tasty to-go meal.
Current dishes from the menu include Kati rolls that are to die for with a flaky buttery crust. They come in a variety of chicken or vegetarian. Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken with curry over rice, Aloo Masala, Dal and rice, Paneer Masala and more. The prices are amazingly affordable for the taste, and range from $4.00 up to $8.00 for larger dishes.
