Bologna – Granarolo S.p.A., the nation's largest agricultural-industrial operator under Italian capital, will be at TUTTOFOOD, the international Agriculture and Food Fair that will take place from 3 to 6 May in the Fiera Milano pavilions in Rho, just a short walk from Expo Milano 2015.
The Company, in Pavilion 4P Stand S10T07, will show the Group's brands and products that are exported to international markets, both in Europe – where Granarolo boasts a leading position with their brands Granarolo and Casa Azzurra in France – and in countries in the Middle East, in China, Australia, South America and North America – where they are present either directly or through synergic partnerships with local manufacturers and distributors.
Indeed, participation in TUTTOFOOD is part of a commercial development plan with the purpose of supporting the internationalisation process that the Company started in 2011 with acquisition and partnership operations in both European and extra-European markets.
Granarolo will present new product lines, aimed at new target consumers, based on the activities to research and develop specific products designed to meet the needs of specific international markets in which the Company works, such as:
- Lactose Free, the cheese and milk line for lactose-intolerant consumers or for those who have difficulty digesting it.
- 100% Dairy-free, a product line made entirely in Italy with Italian soy and rice.
- Yomino, the product line for children made with natural ingredients and dedicated to both children and mothers.
- 0-3 years, the line of liquid milk for infants made with safe and nutritious milk from the Granarolo production line.
- Seasoned cheeses with PDO marking, a line of products such as Grana Padano PDO, Parmigiano Reggiano PDO and Pecorino Romano PDO, which Granarolo now produces directly thanks to recent acquisitions.
- Regional Specialities, a line of Pecorino Senese from Tuscany, Goat's cheese from Sardinia and Caciocavallo Silano from Calabria, designed for those consumers who are looking for traditional products made according to the best Italian cheese-making traditions.
Granarolo will also give international buyers a chance to have a guided tour of their plants and livestock farms.
Granarolo Group
The Granarolo Group, one of the top players in the Italian food and agriculture sector, includes two different and synergic parts: a consortium of milk producers – Granlatte – operating in the agricultural sector and collecting the raw material – and a joint stock company – Granarolo S.p.A. – which processes the milk at 12 production sites throughout Italy and 2 in France and markets the finished product.
The Granarolo group is therefore the most important milk supply chain in Italy, with producer cooperatives as its major shareholders. It unites approximately 1,000 dairy farmers, an organisation of milk collection from farms with 70 vehicles, 1,200 vehicles for distribution delivering 750,000 metric tonnes a year and every day serving some 50,000 sales points where almost 11 million Italian families buy Granarolo products.
The Group’s in-house laboratories analyse the entire production chain daily, from the milk to the finished product, to guarantee consumers with quality products and high safety standards.
The Group also avails of external quality controls carried out by international certification bodies, qualified and guaranteed by the International Food Standard (IFS), the British Retail Consortium (BRC) and the EU organic food certification (CCPB). Since 2002, the production process has had ISO 9001 quality management certification.
The Granarolo Group has about 2100 employees as of 31/12/2014. 77.48% of the Group is owned by the Granlatte Consortium, 19.78% by Intesa Sanpaolo and the remaining 2.74% by Cooperlat.
In 2014 the Group generated a turnover of more than one Billion Euro.
