Atlanta cheese distributor Gourmet Foods International will get $1.3 million in state and local financing support to create 50 jobs in a new Kenosha operation.
The company in August bought a 35,200-square-foot facility in the Business Park of Kenosha to become its new Midwest distribution center. It selected Kenosha after searching the “greater Chicagoland area,” according to the Kenosha Area Business Alliance.
“It’s another affirmation of our ability to successfully compete for corporate investment, especially in the food space,” said Jim Paetsch, vice president of the Milwaukee 7, an area economic growth group.
