The Good Food Awards, in their fourth year, celebrate tasty, authentic and responsibly produced food products. This year, when they passed out awards at a ceremony in the Ferry Building in San Francisco, several Ohio and Indiana products were included.
Among them, Everton cheese from Jacobs & Brichford Farmstead Cheese of Connersville, Ind., and Rosemary Almond Brittle from Cincinnati’s own Chocolats Latour.
Jacobs & Brichford makes three styles of cheese, using milk from their herd of dairy cows fed on grass. The Everton is a wonderful Alpine-style with a mellow flavor with a bit of sharpness behind it. It cuts into firm but creamy slices and melts well.
