Portland, Maine – A virtual “who’s who” of Deli and Cheese Buyers and industry thought leaders will be featured speakers at the upcoming Deli&Cheese 1on1 event, adding a new, in-depth educational component to this historically popular conference. Hosted by FirstSource Events, Deli&Cheese 1on1 will include five interactive panels, as well as presentations and samplings, which provide Buyers and Sellers exciting opportunities to learn from industry experts.
Keith Ellis, a respected chef, will kick off the 2 ½ day meeting with compelling insights into what the “mindful diner/shopper” wants from their deli, specialty foods store, and the take-out counter. Following his presentation will be two panels: “Whether to Purchase or Make Prepared Foods In-House” and “Making the Right Mix in a Multi-State Retail Chain.” Panelists include representatives from Fairway Markets, Murray’s Cheese and Fresh Direct, to name a few.
The day continues with stimulating panels on topics such as “Trends in Restaurant Foodservice,” “Trend or Fad: What’s the Difference?” “Food Safety Training,” and a lively conversation on “What’s in a Name? European vs. American Cheeses.”
Bill Doherty, president of ICDevents, the new owner of FirstSource Events, commented on the new component of the Deli&Cheese 1on1 program: “The formula of Supplier presentations and sampling of products has been very successful. However, by offering a full day of conference content, we are significantly enhancing the value of our program, which enables us to attract even more Buyers from leading chains and specialty retailers. We have already outpaced previous events in terms of the number of high-volume Buyers who have registered. We expect this number to keep growing and the hotel to sell out, as we get closer to the February event.”
In addition to the full day of educational content, top Suppliers will be delivering closed-door presentations to all Buyers and showcasing their products for sampling, before the final day of one-on-one meetings. Just a few of the early registrants for Deli&Cheese1on1 include: Kroger, Meijer, Giant Eagle, SuperValu and Murray's Cheese.
Participants will gain industry and consumer insights and make important contacts throughout the event in a variety of networking get-togethers. “Some interesting and unique themed gatherings will be announced as the event date approaches,” said Doherty, adding, “This is an event not to be missed.” Conference details are available at www.Deli-Cheese1on1.com .
