Brookshire Brothers Ltd., Lufkin, Texas, has awarded the “Best New Deli Item in Show” to the King’s Command Foods fully cooked meatloaf slider. The honor was presented July 12 at the chain’s bi-annual food show for 250 department managers, store directors, merchandisers and corporate staff. Attendees selected the slider from a record number of new products for its potential to generate profits in the deli.
“We are beginning a newly refreshed Meals-To-Go program, and the Certified Angus Beef ® sliders will fit into this category perfectly,” said Debra Arnold, deli category manager. “We expect it to be a great item for our customers. We plan to sell them hot and cold.” They are expected to retail for four for $3.49.
Made with the known quality of the Certified Angus Beef ® brand, the sliders offer hearty, home-style flavor and appearance. The 1.2 oz. patties are made with ground chuck, onions, green peppers and bread crumbs. They are packed 80 per case with 1.0 pretzel buns and frozen for optimum stocking ease. No MSG, binders or fillers are used.
Kings Command Foods, Kent., Wash., introduced the slider at the show along with the Certified Angus Beef ® meatball platter and meatloaf slices. Brookshire stores already offer the company’s meatballs and full-sized meatloaves in the deli.
“We are pleased these products are highly regarded and look forward to more growth with our retail customers,” says Ron Baer, King’s Command president. “Our unique products deliver added value to the retailer and preferred quality to customers.”
King’s Command Meats was incorporated by Harvey Baer in 1966. Since then, it has become fully dedicated to manufacturing top quality pre-portioned, processed foods.
