BOSTON — Yoplait knows when it comes to great tasting yogurt, people let their taste buds choose. This summer, Yoplait is celebrating that choice by taking its Taste-Off – a head-to-head taste test to see which Greek yogurt people prefer – across the country, letting Americans choose for themselves which cup of yogurt tastes best: Yoplait Greek Blueberry yogurt or Chobani Blueberry fruit-on-the-bottom.
The Yoplait Greek Taste-Off is visiting Boston this Fourth of July, celebrating Bostonians' choice in great-tasting, Greek yogurt. Over Independence Day weekend, Yoplait Greek will take over and transform several DUCKs of the iconic Boston Duck Tours fleet, offering free rides July 3-5, 2014. Lucky tour-riders will have the opportunity to enjoy Yoplait Greek yogurt and participate in a head-to-head Taste-Off, letting their taste buds choose which tastes best, while they take in the scenery and historical sights of Boston upon the World War II style amphibious "DUCK" vehicles.
"We've heard again and again from yogurt lovers that great taste is what matters, and we know that our products deliver exceptionally great taste," said Carla Vernon, marketing director for Yoplait Greek. "Following the results of a national taste test that revealed nearly two out of three Americans prefer the taste of Yoplait Greek blueberry over the same Chobani fruit-on-the-bottom flavor, Yoplait launched the Yoplait Greek Taste-Off earlier this year, a national movement asking Greek yogurt lovers to conduct side-by-side taste tests at home and declare their favorite Greek yogurt. Now, we're taking our great-tasting Greek on the road and asking yogurt lovers to choose for themselves which one tastes better. We expect that choice will be Yoplait Greek – but no matter what they choose, we want to celebrate that choice and thank them for making it."
Bostonians and visitors can choose to get their free Yoplait Greek Taste-Off Tour tickets by visiting any of the three Boston Duck Tours ticket booths – at the Prudential Center, Museum of Science or New England Aquarium – on July 3, 4, and 5, available on a first-come-first-serve basis (there are 480 total tickets up for grabs on July 3, 390 tickets on July 4 and 480 on July 5). Tickets will be released each day for same-day tours, while supplies last (go to www.yoplait.com/yoplait-in-action/yoplaitducktours for more information). But the yogurt fun doesn't stop there as anyone who misses out on a free Taste-Off Tour can still take a taste test or enjoy a cup of Yoplait Greek or Yoplait Greek 100 yogurt on Boylston Plaza at the Prudential Center over the holiday weekend.
Coming to a Location Near You!
In addition to Boston, the Yoplait Greek will be popping up around the country this summer and fall, including at retailers in locations near you. All yogurt lovers are encouraged to be part of the fun and take the Taste-Off right at home by doing a side-by-side comparison of Yoplait Greek Blueberry and Chobani Blueberry fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt, sharing their thoughts on social media using #TasteOff.
Last year, Yoplait introduced Yoplait Greek, answering the call for a Greek yogurt that offers the health benefits and thick texture consumers love – and delivers on great taste. Each cup of Yoplait Greek is made using a strained, special blend of slow-fermenting cultures, blended with real fruit pieces and made with natural colors, flavors and sweeteners. And in true Yoplait spirit, there are plenty of Yoplait Greek varieties and flavors to choose from – including Yoplait Greek 100, available in 15 flavors such as Apple Pie and Strawberry Cheesecake and Yoplait Greek, available in 9 mouthwatering flavors.
