Proposition 37, a "right to know" law on the California ballot this fall, has attracted widespread attention because of two labeling requirements it would impose. If it passes, California dairy products made with genetically engineered ingredients would likely have to make a special declaration on the label, and these products would no longer be able to use "natural" claims. Is this a harbinger of changes to come?
