New York State Electric and Gas Corp. has awarded a $169,000 economic development grant to Upstate Niagara Cooperative Inc.
The West Seneca-based dairy cooperative will use the grant for utility infrastructure investments for a new chill tunnel expansion at the company’s North America Drive location.
In a statement, Upstate Niagara Cooperative chief operating officer Joe Duscher said that the funding enables the company to expand and make its product-cooling capacities more efficient. He said that the facility could result in additional dairy products being brought to market.
