BUFFALO, NY – Upstate Niagara Cooperative has been named the Business of the Year by the NYS Agricultural Society, the leader in fostering New York’s food and agriculture industry. Each year, a committee of agricultural experts selects two business winners: one farm (production agriculture) and one agribusiness.
The Business of the Year Award was initiated in 2001 to promote the state’s food system and recognize the quality, leadership, and innovation by New York agribusinesses. This year, the award was given out at the 183rd Annual Meeting & Agricultural Forum, which was co-sponsored by the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets on January 8, 2015 in Syracuse, NY. Accepting on behalf of Upstate Niagara was Ron McCormick, longtime board member.
“It is truly an honor to be accepting this recognition on behalf of everyone at Upstate Niagara,” said McCormick. “I speak for every farmer, every board member, and every person on staff when I say we are committed to providing the freshest, highest-quality dairy products to not only the great state of New York, but the entire country, as well.
