SMITH'S Announces Winner Of Its Name The Chocolate Cow Contest
June 14, 2011 | 2 min to read
ORRVILLE, Ohio — The chocolate cow that graces the SMITH’S 1% Lowfat Chocolate Milk package finally has a name. “Chloe” was submitted by a number of entrants in SMITH’S recent Name the Chocolate Cow contest, and Angie Wilds of Orrville won in a random drawing from all “Chloe” submissions. Chloe joins the Dorothy D., Twyla 2%, Wanda 1% and Sally Skim characters in the SMITH’S herd.
“We’re excited to finally name Chloe,” said Jerry Cosentino, marketing service manager for SMITH’S. “And we couldn’t be happier to know that such a generous person has won.”
Wilds had plans to “pay it forward” if she were to win the contest. Her winnings of one gallon of SMITH’S chocolate milk each week for a year will be donated to the Orrville Fire Department’s holiday food drive for less-fortunate families. In recognition of Wilds’ generosity, SMITH’S will double her winnings, providing the holiday effort with 104 gallons of milk.
Chloe’s name will appear soon on pint containers of SMITH’S 1% Lowfat Chocolate Milk. There were nearly 2,000 entries in the Name the Chocolate Cow contest, which ran from January through May.
