A contentious sale that pitted family members against each other ended Monday when Smith Brothers Farms officially took over the operations of Alpenrose Dairy.
But Smith Brothers will only take over the dairy operations. More than 50 acres of land on Shattuck Road will remain with the current ownership, a press release from Smith Brothers said. That part of the property where there are dairy operations will be leased by Smith Brothers.
The continued operation of the family-friendly sports and entertainment facilities will be determined.
