Along with American Cheese Society members all over the country, Shatto Milk Company will be hosting a special event on their local family farm on October 29, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to celebrate October is American Cheese Month.
American Cheese Month is a time to recognize and raise awareness of the high quality and variety of American Artisan Cheeses with the intent of promoting and supporting great cheese, local foods, family farms, traditional methods, and sustainable production models.
The event will be an open house where visitors can come and go while witnessing the cheese making process, enjoy wonderful samples of a wide array of Shatto cheeses, sample Shatto Milk products and of course look around the farm.
The American Cheese Society is the leader in promoting and supporting American made cheese. Just this year, Shatto Milk Companys Plattsburg Gouda was named 3rd at the American Cheese Societys international competition, which saw record number of entries greater than 1,600.
