Sargento Foods Hires Melanie Milslagle, Promotes Bill Schaeffer

PLYMOUTH, Wis. – Sargento Foods Inc. announces the promotion of Bill Schaeffer to vice president of sales within the Food Ingredients Division. With this promotion, Bill will assume greater responsibility and implement process improvements supporting the division’s sales efforts, reporting to Mike McEvoy, president Food Ingredients Division.

Since joining the Sargento family in 2009, Bill served as senior director of sales—food ingredients and director of sales—food service. Before Sargento, Bill held sales management positions at The Schwan Food Company in Marshall, Minn., including vice president of sales. He earned his master’s degree in business administration from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minn., and his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mankato State University in Mankato, Minn.

Sargento Foods Inc. also announces the hiring of Melanie Milslagle as consumer insights manager in the Consumer Products Division. In this role, Melanie will be responsible for planning and directing market research activities to strengthen brand initiatives, reporting to Kate Alvarado, senior consumer insights manager.

“Melanie’s strong market research background and experience will greatly contribute to the insights team,” said Louie Gentine, president and chief customer officer at Sargento. “We are confident Melanie will exceed our expectations and know she will be a great addition to the Sargento family.”

Prior to joining Sargento, Melanie held the position of associate market research manager at Church and Dwight Co.in Princeton, N.J. In this role, Melanie led research planning, execution, and communication of results for a portfolio of brands, including Arm & Hammer Liquid Laundry Detergent, OxiClean and Kaboom.

Melanie earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay.
