Carlinville, IL – The World Dairy Expo and 2014 state fairs have wrapped up and Prairie Farms announced it received over 100 dairy contest awards –  taking top honors in many categories for its high quality milk and dairy products. The World Dairy Expo judging was held in August and 15 trophies were awarded to Prairie Farms on September 30th in Madison, Wisconsin. Throughout the summer, the company won over 100 awards in Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee State Fair Dairy Competitions.

The World Dairy Expo Championship Dairy Product Contest, sponsored by the Wisconsin Dairy Products Association, is the only judging contest of its kind in North America, since no other national contest includes all dairy products. There were 1055 product entries in 72 dairy categories. Prairie Farms received awards for white and chocolate milk, whipping cream, yogurt, cottage cheese and sour cream dips.

In addition to winning more than 100 one hundred red, white and blue state fair ribbons in numerous categories, Prairie Farms Lowfat Strawberry Yogurt claimed the prestigious Tennessee State Fair Governor’s Quality Plaque and the Kentucky State Fair Gold Medal Award.  Prairie Farms Small Curd Cottage Cheese claimed the Missouri State Fair Blue Rosette Ribbon and the Kentucky State Fair Gold Medal Award – the highest ranking awards in the category.

In August, Prairie Farms was recognized by the Wisconsin Grocers Association and the Missouri Grocers Association for providing superior customer service, top-quality products and their commitment to community involvement.  The announcement of the Wisconsin Vendor of the Year Award was made at the state fair, where Prairie Farms was the official cream supplier for the famous Wisconsin State Fair Cream Puffs. The Missouri Vendor of the Year Award was presented during a ceremony at the Missouri Grocers Association Annual Convention.

"Receiving the World Dairy Expo Awards, state fair ribbons and supplier awards speaks volumes about the dedication of our farm families and employees. The prestigious awards are a reflection of our commitment to quality," said Ed Mullins, Prairie Farms Executive Vice President and CEO. "We’re proud of the role we play in providing families with the finest milk and dairy products available in the United States and I am gratified that our commitment to quality was recognized by the esteemed contest judges and our retail partners.”
