Nova Scotia shoppers will soon have a local option for purchasing organic milk.
The East Coast Organic Milk Co-operative is in the final stages of package design and spokeswoman Heather MacKenzie said it plans to have product for sale by the spring.
"One of our first target markets will be a major retailer, so you’ll be able to get it provincewide," she said.
MacKenzie said there is an established market for organic milk, but until now, people have had to purchase products that come from outside Nova Scotia.
That is about to change.
