Governor Jim Gibbons has proclaimed June as Nevada “Dairy Month”. This proclamation underscores the importance of the dairy industry to the state of Nevada and encourages consumers to purchase Nevada dairy products.

Nevada’s dairy industry, which includes dairy farms as well as manufacturing and bottling plants throughout the State, contributes significantly to the employment and economy of Nevada. “Although Nevada is a small dairy-producing state, the dairy farms, in particular, provide an important employment base for several rural counties, and the industry as a whole benefits the entire State economy,” said Mark French, Executive Director of the Nevada Dairy Commission.
