ST. PAUL — Proponents of raw milk packed a hearing room last week for an informational hearing on two bills authored by Rep. Sarah Anderson.

Anderson, R-Plymouth, introduced the bills at the request of two constituents, Dawn Olson and Carol Friske.

Anderson told members of the House Agriculture and Rural Development Policy and Finance Committee that while they knew her as a suburban legislator, she grew up on a dairy farm near Atwater and knew the benefits of raw milk firsthand.

She and her 12 siblings all drank raw milk. She and several of her sisters were dairy princesses. Her mother was active in milk promotion.
