The webinar, which was sponsored by IDFA Business Partners Alchemy Systems and Silliker, Inc,, is open to all dairy industry participants, was led by Joseph A. Levitt, a partner at Hogan Lovells US LLP and the former director of the Food and Drug Administration's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition. Levitt discussed what dairy companies need to know to get ready for implementation of the Food Safety Modernization Act, including the new responsibilities for food companies, new import controls, new enforcement powers for FDA and new fees on U.S. industry and importers.
