The hope raw milk advocates had for the county to reconsider the locally banned substance's benefits may sour with a presentation coming before the Humboldt County Supervisors on Tuesday.
The presentation from the Department of Health and Human Services aims to further educate the board on the health and safety risks and benefits of raw milk, but advocates say the report is one-sided.
”It's an outrage … they ignored any benefits of raw milk,” said raw milk advocate Mark McAfee who owns Organic Pastures, one of two certified raw milk distributors in the state.
Humboldt County is one of three counties in California that bans the sale of raw milk — or milk that has not gone through the pasteurization process.
