LYNNFIELD, Mass.– HP Hood, the leading dairy brand in New England, has announced its "Do Some Good With Hood®" program in support of The Great American Milk Drive, which gets much-needed milk into the hands of families struggling with hunger across our country. Hood will match donations made through the program, up to 1,000 gallons, to deliver a total of 2,000 gallons of milk to local food banks in New England.
"Milk is one of the most requested items from food banks, but it is rarely donated," said Lynne Bohan, vice president of communications and government affairs at Hood. "We're proud to partner with the Great American Milk Drive, and we look forward to joining with New England residents to donate up to 2,000 gallons of milk to help families in need in our local communities."
By visiting DoSomeGoodWithHood.com, consumers can make a donation directly to the Great American Milk Drive. The program, made possible by the nation's dairy farmers and milk companies in partnership with Feeding America, was created to help provide milk to the 12.5 million families in our country who do not have access to adequate nourishment to help them reach their full potential.
Local food banks that may benefit from the donations include The Greater Boston Food Bank, the Connecticut Food Bank, Rhode Island Community Food Bank, Foodshare, Good Shepherd Food Bank, Vermont Foodbank, New Hampshire Food Bank, The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts and Worcester County Food Bank, among others.
