LeChase Construction Services LLC will complete a two-year, $82 million expansion of the FAGE yogurt factory in Johnstown, New York next month.
The expansion positions the Greek yogurt manufacturer to double production capacity and add 150 employees to its 270-person workforce. The 87-year-old Greek company, which sells its yogurt in 35 countries, currently is advertising openings for lab technicians, maintenance technicians, as well as warehouse and field operators
Tim Hanke, project manager of the FAGE expansion and project executive for LeChase Construction in Rochester, said a large portion of the cost was tied to rock blasting and the installation of stainless steel piping.
