These are exciting days for the people at Almetta Foods Co.
After two years of research and development, the startup Eugene firm last week got its first product onto the shelves of supermarkets — a refrigerated mousse made of almond-cashew milk and other ingredients.
“There’s the exhilaration of bringing something to market,” said Roger Best, vice president, marketing and sales. “Wow, it’s finally going to get there.”
Almetta’s founders created the dessert to satisfy their goal of making a plant-based, non-dairy dessert that tastes rich.
