Until recently, Seattle-based Greek yogurt company Ellenos had people working 10-hour days to hand-fill 16-ounce containers with its thick, creamy yogurt in a variety of flavors.

The company has a machine to fill its popular 8-ounce cups that are distributed around the region, but the larger size has become so popular that a crew of seven to eight workers was needed to fill about 7,200 containers a day.

After receiving a $100,000 loan from Whole Foods, through its Local Producer Loan Program, Ellenos was able to buy a new cupping machine that will allow the company to increase production from 7,200 containers a day up to 36,000 containers a day.
