The Dairy Farmers of America Inc. and the Genesee County Economic Development Center have agreed on a short-term incentive package that would see the national organization take over the Müller Quaker Dairy LLC plant.
Officials say the deal will last through this year but may lead to a long-term pact.
The payment-in-lieu-of-taxes (PILOT) package would see Dairy Farmers of America pay $300,000 in water and wastewater/sewer infrastructure and fire district fees to the Town of Batavia to help underwrite some costs associated with the 363,000-square-foot former yogurt production plant.
