BOUCHERVILLE, QC – Families across the country will have one more reason to stay at the dinner table longer with the arrival of Danette, the first dairy dessert from Danone Canada. Made from 75% milk, each little cup promises to top off the family meal with a snack that's both delicious and nutritious.
Enjoying the pleasure of eating
Nearly 2 out of 3 Canadians say they feel a desire to treat themselves after a meal. They want to eat healthier but also indulge themselves. While pleasure and a healthy diet can go hand in hand, most Canadians finish their meals with a dessert such as cake, ice cream, cookies or chocolate. In fact, these four choices account for more than 80% of what we consume to satisfy our desire for an indulgence.[i] "Danette paves the way for a new type of product: a dessert packed with dairy goodness" said Pauline Varga, Vice President, Marketing, at Danone Canada. Primarily made from milk fortified with vitamin D, Danette also contains calcium and protein,[ii] making it an excellent alternative to complete a meal in style.
Danette: A new way to consume a dairy product
Danone is recognized for the quality and variety of its dairy products. Danette is a simple and enjoyable way to add more dairy products to a diet. "Danone never stops innovating, and we'll succeed by offering a variety of products that appeal to as many people as possible," Ms. Varga concluded. This mission is all the more important, because two-thirds of Canadians do not consume the two to four servings of dairy per day recommended by Canada's Food Guide.
In over 40 years of existence and roughly 27 countries, Danette has never failed to be a huge hit with consumers. The Canadian version goes on sale August 18 in the dairy section of grocery stores across the country. The suggested retail price is $2.99 for a pack of four 100 g individual servings. Danette will be available in six flavours: chocolate, coffee, dark chocolate, choco-coconut, vanilla and caramel.
