Borden Fat Free Half Pint Chocolate Milk Recalled In Central/South Texas

AUSTIN, Texas — Borden Dairy Company of Texas, LLC announced today it has instituted a voluntary recall of certain Borden Fat Free Chocolate Half Pint Cartons. The product is labeled as: Borden Fat Free Chocolate Half Pint Cartons: Code Dec 14 / Plant Code 480301.

The milk was produced in the Borden Austin facility in a single production run and delivered to school districts, institutions and some retailers in central and south Texas.

A diluted food grade sanitizing agent may be present in a limited amount of the product run, resulting in the product acquiring a lumpy texture and/or an off taste or color. The company has received reports that consumption of the affected product may result in vomiting. Food grade sanitizing agents are normally used in direct application in the processing of various food products.

The voluntary recall is being done in cooperation with the Texas Department of State Health Services. Borden regrets the inconvenience to customers and consumers.
