Blue Bell Creameries has expanded the size of its planned Indianapolis distribution center because of greater-than-expected demand for its ice cream.
The Texas ice cream maker said today it will build a 12,000 square foot distribution center in Park 100 on the Northwestside, six times larger than the 2,000-square-foot transfer station that was originally planned there.
The distribution center at 8155 Allison Avenue will include office space, cold storage and a loading dock. It will open in the spring of 2011.
