LONGMONT — Billy Goat Dairy can resume distributing raw milk to consumers owning shares of its goat herd, Boulder County Public Health decided Wednesday.
County health officials had ordered the dairy south of Longmont to stop distributions of its unpasteurized milk products June 29 after people reported becoming ill from drinking its raw milk.
Boulder County Public Health issued a checklist of recommendations for dairy owner Bill Campbell to address before he could reopen.
Carol McInnes, an environmental health specialist with the county department, made an on-site visit Wednesday afternoon to verify that Campbell had completed those steps.
