What if there were one day when, everywhere you went, there were opportunities to try delicious whole grain foods?
The eighth annual public health initiative Whole Grain Sampling Day approaches on March 27, 2019 — an opportunity to shine a spotlight on good taste and good nutrition.
The Oldways Whole Grains Council invites classrooms, restaurants, food companies, supermarkets, and cafeterias nationwide to offer samples or special promotions of whole grain items and recipes. The goal of the day is to put the focus on whole grains, and increase the visibility of organizations that offer these healthy foods to their consumers.
2019’s celebration will include more than 200 partner activities across the country, ranging from social media giveaways from whole grain food companies, to educational events on college campuses, to special menu items at restaurants.
The Whole Grains Council makes it easy for companies and organizations to participate. Resources are available here and include targeted guides for restaurants, food service organizations, universities, and more. Interested participants can also join the conversation online with the hashtag #SampleWholeGrains.
Oldways is a food and nutrition nonprofit dedicated to improving public health by inspiring individuals and organizations to embrace the healthy, sustainable joys of the “old ways” of eating—heritage-based diets high in taste, nourishment, sustainability, and joy.
Happy Whole Grain Sampling Day!
