US Gluten-Free Food Market Growth Of 10.26% CAGR By 2020

DUBLIN – Research and Markets has announced the addition of the "Gluten-free food market in the US 2016-2020" report to their offering.

The gluten-free food market in the US is forecast to grow at a CAGR of 10.26% during the period 2016-2020.

Commenting on the report, an analyst from the research team said: With the market for gluten-free packaged foods growing at a steady rate, the growing presence of private labels in the market is giving tough competition to large players. Retailers have embraced the growing trend of gluten-free food products by stocking more of these items, highlighting them in their stores, and launching their own private label brands.

According to the report, one of the major driving factors of the gluten-free food market in the US is celiac disease and other gluten allergies. Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder, whereby the small intestine is unable to process the gluten present in certain foods such as wheat, barley, and rye. It affects the lining of the small intestine and disrupts the absorption of nutrients. The continued consumption of foods with gluten may increase the risk of contracting other more serious health disorders such as multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, and certain cancers.
