LUBBOCK, TX — The United Family® and Mrs Baird’s Bread® today announced the April winners of the third annual Teachers On The Rise program. Since the program’s launch in 2012, nominations have poured in from students in the South Plains explaining why their teacher(s) deserve special recognition, and this month’s trio of winners represents the eighth group of instructors to be honored for the 2014-2015 school year.
The three April winners include Jacob Reep of Lubbock Cooper Central Elementary (Lubbock-Cooper ISD), Erika Gulick of Evans Middle School (Lubbock ISD) and Laura Berumen of Levelland High School (Levelland ISD).
“We thank these amazing teachers for their hard work and contribution to our youth’s bright futures,” said Shelby Crews, senior community relations manager for The United Family. “The Teachers On The Rise program provides an opportunity to reward standout educators for the vital work they do each day.”
Winning teachers receive a $100 United Supermarkets/Market Street/Amigos gift card and a $100 VISA gift card. The students who nominate a winning teacher also receive a $50 VISA gift card.
Three more South Plains teachers – one elementary, middle school and high school – will be named Teachers On The Rise in May, which will be the final group honored this school year. To nominate a teacher in the South Plains, visit www.MrsBTeacher.com.
