The name has changed from Sweetheart to Franz, but the two Billings bakery outlet stores that reopened Wednesday morning quickly attracted some of the same loyal customers.
Curt Velman and his 2 ½-year-old daughter, Madeline, walked out of the Heights outlet store at 1211 Main St. with a dozen loaves of wheat bread, cinnamon swirl Texas toast and cookies for his three children.
“We’re glad to see them back with the economy the way it is. This is a life support for lots of people,” Velman said.
He moved to Billings from Idaho three years ago when his wife accepted a different job with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.
