They were also briefed by industry partners on their respective developments and activities. The ABA Board of Directors will next meet October 28-29, in Dallas, Texas.
Board Dinner
The ABA Board of Directors gathered on June 11th for their Summer Meeting Reception and Dinner at the National Restaurant Association’s new state-of-the-art test kitchen. They were joined by special guest and 2013 Baker’s Dozen Award recipient, Congressman Bob Goodlatte (VA-6), who discussed sugar reform, the Renewal Fuel Standard and the U.S. ethanol policy and the potential costs these issues will have on businesses and consumers, as well as a variety of other issues impacting bakers and their suppliers.“Our current policies are driving up the cost of food and without reform, jobs and industries will be at risk,” said Rep. Goodlatte. “At a time when our economy is still struggling to recover, the last thing families and small businesses need are costly government policies that increase their grocery bills.”
