PLANT CITY – Cookie lovers everywhere will have something to cheer about when Toufayan Bakeries completes a $4.5 million, 83,000 square-foot expansion at its factory on the east side of town.
The extra space will enable the cookie and bun factory to add a product line and increase warehouse space. The plant will have about 200,000 square-feet under roof when the expansion is complete.
The plant at 2615 E. U.S. 92 is the only one owned by Toufayan that bakes cookies. The company's other plants, in Orlando and Ridgefield, N.J., make bread products.
